Beginning of April we said a proper goodbye to the snow season with a fantastic ski trip. It’s the perfect combo of fun, cold, struggle (yes I challenged myself to a run that’s way above my skill level…), and learning (kids learned skiing, I learned that apparently a steel shovel is very important to have when parking in snow…)! But we were lucky to run into many helpful people that made this trip wonderful. The timing of this last storm of the season was just impeccable!

Here are the things that kept me busy this past month, aside from the day-to-day ‘job’ related stuff…
Creating and hacking stuffs
Drawing
Weekly comics - the adventure of ‘Ant, Bot, and Cat’ is coming closer to an end at a slow grind for me… but finally churned out one more issue. As usual, all previous strips are posted on all major social feeds, but of course, the best place to access this would be my (paid) Patreon page
Study drawings (#inktober52 ) - can you guess what the prompt words are?
#FanArt - only did one this month, but I like it a lot (obviously biased by the game I’ve been playing ;)
Writing
“100 Drawings of Tang Dynasty Poems” (唐詩一百畫) - book 1: available as a hardcover on Amazon. Book 2 of this 3-part series is on-going! 😊
The pre-released drafts of this book are all available on my Patreon
Not much happened on my ‘short stories’ substack “Echo of the Worlds”.
Game Dev
I started dabbling with the Unity engine a bit, just curious. (already missing GDevelop more)
Still, feel free to play my game#1 Qin!
The Web
No updates (is a good update 😉)
Consuming Stuffs
Reading - Finally finished reading Book 5 of A Song of Ice and Fire “A Dance with Dragons”… I took my time since there’s no book 6 (and probably never will) but it is inevitable, now I want that book badly.
Gaming - Continued on God of War, Bioshock 2 and Portal: Evolution
TV/Movies - Tetris (fun!); Mythic Quest S1 > S2; Andor S2; Last of Us S2.
Learning: continuing French learning journey on Duolingo - instead of locking some content behind paywall (like Memrise) it uses gamification with ads and that seems to work better for my lifestyle / usage.
That’s it for this issue of my newsletter! If you really finished reading the above, I thank you, and wish that my sharing would either entertain you, or inspire you (if you’ve been thinking about your own creative projects).
