Thanks to Thanksgiving, November also brought us the excitement of Black Friday / Cyber Monday sales week and a strong reason for the friends and families gatherings.
I love the spirit of Thanksgiving (not so much of the origin story of it), as it reminds us of the basic human decency - to be thankful, and show appreciation.
Thanks to technological and scientific advancements, things are only getting easier and easier to come by. Things range from materialistic items such as food and toys, to intangible content such as entertainment and information. When things are harder to come by, it only makes the value of the things so much higher, thus much more appreciated. And when things are easier to get, it’s more likely to be taken for granted.
So let’s be thankful of living in today’s comfort and convenience brought to us by all the technical advancements and scientific discoveries. And let’s use that knowledge to make more things, in sustainable ways.
Here are the things that kept me busy this past month, aside from the day-to-day ‘job’ related stuff…
Creating and hacking stuffs
Game Dev
'Qin' - an action game based on the story of China’s first emperor - I am making steady progress and almost finished with the two bosses in chapter 1 of the game.
Drawing
Weekly project drawing (Tang poem 唐詩)
Study drawings
Writing
I decided to put the new book project on hold, but continue to write 3 pieces a week on the 唐詩一百畫 project - extending from the drawings, I am adding translation, reflection and additional notes for each poem. This is shared with my Patreon members every week (see below)!
Web, Merch Store
My Patreon members continue to get all the full resolution arts and pre-released book writing every week!
Website - heta.link received a minor facelift…
Merch Store – yeah… no update here, but please do check it out…
Social - I’ve continued to regularly post across various social channels and most of them are linked off my LinkTree page
Consuming Stuffs
Reading - almost done with volume 2 of the epic historical novel of the Eastern Zhou dynasty (“帝國曙光”).
TV/Movies - a bit of Euphoria; and Andor: wow, what a great show and probably the most unique storytelling in Star Wars universe. It encompasses spy games, revolution, prison break, and much love and sacrifices in between. I can’t wait for another season!
Gaming - Batman Arkham Knight @ 89%; Tomb Raider (2013) @ 92%
If you really finished reading the above, I thank you, and wish that my sharing would either entertain you, or inspire you (if you’ve been thinking about your own creative projects).
