What I've Been Up to In September 2022
"Just when I thought I was out..."
“[of the hot weather], …they pull us back in!” This past month several places across the world were covered by dangerous heat waves. The area we live in was nowhere near that in severity, but it also went up to an uncomfortable 100 (fereignhein) degrees! That got uncomfortable enough that I actually put on the windows AC unit and used it for a good 3 days (only in the off-peak hours). We are all impacted by the climate changes… hope we can do enough to make Earth hospitable, for more generations…
Here are the things that kept me busy this past month, aside from the day-to-day ‘job’ related stuff…
Creating and hacking stuffs
Game Dev
Continuing my long term effort to make an action game, ‘Qin’, based on Chinese history… this month was mostly on scripting out the whole chapter 1 story. Getting closer to the first release!
Drawing
Tang poem 唐詩 drawing - I continue to develop my skill and style, for both drawing and calligraphy. I am happy to see that my art started to change style, taking a voice by itself:
also I’ve been running with one study drawing a week:
October is going to be the month of ‘Inktober’, I’ve been participating this since 2019! - very excited!
Writing
唐詩一百畫 project is going well. I wrote about 3 pieces every week, they get shared to my Patreon members once a week
On the ‘off days’ I am also starting a new book project - going to be bunch of short stories, but probably will take years to make happen, if ever. :p
Web, Merch Store
social posts - I am now regularly posting across various channels: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Reddit, Artstation, Youtube, Tiktok… :) Initially it was annoying to do these, as it took a long time (not even saying that I am doing a decent job), but now I got the template and process down and it’s more tolerable.
Merch Store – yeah… no update here, but please do check it out…
Consuming Stuffs
Reading - continued on volume 2 of the epic historical novel of the Eastern Zhou dynasty (“帝國曙光”);
TV/ Movies - didn’t watch as much this month: She-hulk; Andor (I really like it so far!); Paddinton2; The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey;
Gaming - Batman Arkham Knight @ 49%; Tomb Raider (2013) @ 48%
If you really finished reading the above, I thank you, and wish that my sharing would either entertain you, or inspire you (if you’ve been thinking about your own creative projects).
